My name is Brian Bachman. I’m originally from Pittsburgh and still bleed black and gold, but I have lived many different places in the world, and now live in northern Virginia. I am married to the most wonderful woman in the world, and am the proud father of two brilliant and beautiful daughters.
I am also a former American diplomat who recently resigned from the Foreign Service due to moral, ethical and political objections to the policies and rhetoric of the Trump Administration. I love my country and the values for which it stands – freedom, equality and justice, even if we have not always lived up to those values. I will fight for those values, using the weapons my education and experience have given me, thoughts and words.
I am a devout Christian, and am concerned for the future of Christianity in both America and the world, as I believe that many of the loudest voices in the Christian world today are false prophets who have been corrupted by politics and money. Despite all that, I am an optimist, who believes the future is bright, and that we have it within our grasp to make the world a much better place for the generations to follow us.
In this blog I hope to express my thoughts and opinions about politics, religion and especially the intersection of the two. I may also even comment a bit on Pittsburgh sports teams, because, hey, everyone needs a few passions outside of politics.
